After its big $1 billion+ win against Samsung in American court regarding the former’s copying of the iPhone’s features in its Galaxy line of Android handsets, Apple is now on the roll and it appears that the companies that it has started legal proceedings against are now listening much more closely than ever before.
Take for instance HTC: a recent court document filing posted on FOSS Patents reveals that the Taiwanese hitech manufacturing giant is still ready to negotiate a settlement with Apple regarding some of the latter’s patents that it claims were apparently used in manufacturing of several of HTC’s flagship devices, despite the fact that the two companies could not see eye to eye during their last two meetings.
If Apple and HTC will eventually fail to reach an out-of-court settlement we should probably get ready for another lengthy lawsuit with plenty of entertainment and surprises — just like we’ve seen with the infamous Apple vs Samsung USA lawsuit.
But that’s not all, as Apple is also in patent wars with other Samsung subdivisions all around the world, with (the now Google owned) Motorola, and of course with HTC itself.
